My 3 Favorite Skincare Serums

With everyone leaning into self-care, taking part in retail therapy and filling hours talking to themselves in the mirror during the COVID-19 lockdown, I wanted to introduce you to my favorite skincare serums.

Serums are a great add on to a basic skincare routine because they do so much to protect and benefit the skin beyond what your "usual" products like cleansers and moisturizers do. The difference between a serum and a facial oil is that a serum has active ingredients that work to keep your skin healthy and either work to brighten the skin, reverse aging or protect the skin.

I've compiled some of my favorite, toxin-free and sustainable facial serums for you to check out below!

My all time favorite serum and a key of my skincare routine is this serum:

Beautycounter All Bright Serum - Brighten up with this game-changing serum. This ultra-potent 10% blend of two forms of vitamin C instantly brightens skin and helps reduce the appearance of existing dark spots, while antioxidant-rich turmeric and camu camu extracts help protect against new ones. The formula also helps defend skin from the damaging effects of environmental stressors—revealing a more youthful-looking complexion.

Another one of my favorites is the Beautycounter Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum - This transformative rejuvenating treatment visibly increases skin firmness and elasticity, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Formulated with a powerful blend of peptides, amino acids, and our plant-derived Retinatural Complex, it helps enhance the skin’s moisture barrier function to optimize hydration for a radiant complexion. My go to for self-care nights is the Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel (pretty much a tingly serum) - Goodnight, dullness. Good morning, glow. Featuring a proprietary multi-acid complex, this leave-on AHA/BHA peel improves skin texture and boosts clarity without irritation or over-drying. With glycolic, malic, and botanically derived lactic acid, the formula clears away dull surface cells, while arginine and essential fatty acids help soothe to reveal a brighter, healthier looking, renewed complexion. I hope this round-up gave you an inspiration of where to start when you're looking for a clean, sustainable serum. My favorite time to apply serum is right after a toner ( I usually opt for either a toner or a moisturizer; not both).
